We will only advise MEng students who start working as a UROP in their senior year (or earlier). This is to give you enough time to find a suitable project, familiarize yourself with tools, perform the thesis work, and finish the writeup. I generally require an A grade in 6.004 for senior UROP/MEng students.
Please send an email including a resume detailing your prior hardware/software design experience, together with a sample of source code (any language), and short piece of your technical writing (in English).
